Happy Monday

Good morning and happy Monday Brewton area sports fans! I hope your week was a great one and this week will be as well.

Over the weekend, two T.R. Miller baseball players, Wes Dickey and Stephen Warren, played on the East team of the Lions Club East-West game Saturday afternoon at JDCC.

In game one, the two teams tied 5-5 before the East earned a 7-1 win in game two.

As for the blog this week, I mentioned in the last blog I would discuss how our teams in the area did this past 2009-2010 season.

Counting nine sports (volleyball, football, boys basketball, girls basketball, B-team basketball, baseball, softball, boys and girls tennis), T.R. Miller’s teams went a combined 116-57-1 while W.S. Neal went 65-102.

Of the nine sports, T.R. Miller’s teams had seven winning seasons and two losing while W.S. Neal had three winning and six losing.

Tiger teams had two state champions and one runner-up in cross country.

As for JDCC sports teams (basketball, baseball and softball, and volleyball) all four teams had a losing records going a combined 53-108.

Well, that concludes the blog for today.

Until we meet again here or out in the world of sports, God bless.
