Hello Brewton area sports fans! Today’s blog will be a short and sweet blog and will look at the early playoff brackets for class 3A and T.R. Miller.

I know there is still two weeks left in the 2010 schedule and one more region game left, but it looks like T.R. Miller is bound for the No. 4 seed in region 1. The only way T.R. Miller could get anything else, if my eyes are looking at the brackets and standings correctly, is if Bayside Academy loses to Excel this week. That would put Bayside with three region losses to T.R. Miller’s two. If Bayside and T.R. Miller win this week, both will have two region losses and Bayside owns the head-to-head over T.R. Miller so they would get the No. 3 slot and T.R. Miller the No. 4 slot.

In the first round, region 1 meets up with region 2 with No. 1 seeds taking on No. 4 and No. 2 taking on No. 3.

As of right now in region 2, Daleville and Abbeville are both 7-1 and 5-1 in region play and play this week. The winner will take the No. 1 seed and the loser the No. 2 seed. So either way, T.R. Miller will be going to Daleville or Abbeville. It just needs to play out if T.R. Miller will be the No. 3 or the No. 4 seed taking on a No. 1 seed Abbeville or Daleville or a No. 2 seed Abbeville or Daleville.

Last season, T.R. Miller opened the playoffs at home as the No. 2 seed against a No. 3 seed Abbeville.

UPDATED: After looking at the standings a little closer, and if my eyes are telling my brain correctly, T.R. Miller MAY still have a SLIM OUTSIDE chance at getting the No. 2 seed in the playoffs and having a first round home game.

If Clarke County beats Washington County this week, that would put Washington County 5-2 in region play and if T.R. Miller wins this week, they would also be 5-2 in region play with the head-to-head over Washington County, but would need Excel to still beat Bayside to make the standings, Trinity, T.R. Miller, Washington, Bayside…….IF I AM LOOKING AT THIS RIGHT.

That would mean T.R. Miller could face No. 3 seed in region 2 Luverne or Pike County in Brewton.
