Brewton area residents can now have an opportunity to have dermatological issues taken care of right here at home.
D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital welcome Dr. Carole Lane in the practice of dermatology this week.
Dr. Lane joins D.W. McMillan Medical Group, and began seeing patients September 19.
Prior to opening her practice in Brewton, Dr. Lane practiced dermatology in Monroeville.
Graduating Cum Laude in the top 25 percent of her class, she received her medical degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Medicine where she focused her postgraduate studies on Internal Medicine and Dermatol-ogy.
As a practicing physician, Dr. Lane received the prestigious American Medical Association Physician Recognition Award for Continuing Medical Education from 2000 to 2003.
In her new practice, Dr. Lane will focus on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions of the skin, scalp, hair and nails, including identifying skin cancer and treating it through surgery.
“We are very pleased to have someone with Dr. Lane’s background and credentials join our medical staff,” Chris Griffin, administrator at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital said. “We are especially pleased to begin offering dermatology services locally. This specialty will be a great addition to the medical services available in the Brewton area.”
Dr. Lane will see patients every other week, Monday through Friday. Her office, located at 1108 Douglas Avenue, will be open every week to accept patient calls. Appointments are now being accepted by calling 251-867-1711.
