Stowers honored on anniversary

Lamar and Evelyn Stowers were married on Sept. 8, 1951 and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 8, 2011 at a surprise party given by their children at David’s Catfish House, where they ate and later enjoyed punch and cake.
Their children are Elton and Jean Stowers, Ronald and Dianne Stowers, and Corrie and Randy Pittman. Guests attending were the children; grandchildren, Heath and Stefani Pittman, Matthew Colvin and Patrick Stowers; great-grandchildren, Roux and Taven Pittman; Royce Lee and Lorena Frederick, Orell and Allie Mae Hart, Robert and Mary Warr, Bobbie and Bill Padgett, William and Betty Polk, Bill and Janice Happoldt, Clif, Ellie and Kaylie Hammac. Not attending were their grandson, PFC Rodney B. Colvin stationed in Iraq, and two other grandchildren, Brooke and Ethan Pugh.
