Everett Watson

Mr. Everett Watson, 92, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011. He was a resident of East Brewton and a long-time member of Faith Community Fellowship of East Brewton. He was preceded in death by his wife, the Rev. Gladys Watson; a son, Michael Gene Watson; and a grandson, Jim Brown; his father, Elie Watson; and mother, Celia Ann (lovingly known as as “Celie”)Minchew Watson-Welles; three brothers,  L.B., Berk and Jimmy Watson; four sisters, Cora-Lee Ringley, Mary Thornton, Eva-Pearl Griffis, and Willie-Mae Golden.
Everett was a veteran of World War II, and a long-time general contractor in Brewton
He is survived by a son, the Rev. Donald E. (Carol) Watson of Easley, S.C.; a daughter, Betty Ann (Jimmy) Brown of Brewton; five grandchildren, Melody Watson of Greensboro, N.C,, Rev. D. Everett (Brenda) Watson of Brewton, Roland Sherri Brown of Brewton, Tonya Davis of Jacksonville, Fla., and Joy Watson-Merdan (Tarek) of Greensboro, N.C.; five great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; seven step great-great-grandchildren; a brother, J.T. Watson of Brewton; a sister, Pauline Dorman of Gantt; his caregiver, Wanda Andrews and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Homer Stewart and Speaker Donald Watson officiating. Burial followed in Union Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
