JDCC softball splits with Bishop

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team suffered their first conference loss Wednesday but rebounded in game two to earn a split.
JDCC fell to 19-25 overall and to 7-1 in conference play after losing game one to Bishop State on the road 6-3 but winning game two 9-0.
In game one, JDCC tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the fifth inning before seeing Bishop scored two in the bottom of the inning and two in the sixth while holding JDCC to one in the top of the sixth.
Mallori Armstrong took the loss on the mound going six innings and allowing 10 hits, six runs, four earned, walked one and struck out four.
JDCC had only five hits in the loss with Amber Steadham leading the way with a 2-for-3 day with a double and one RBI.
Carley Parker was 1-for-3 with a double while Morgan Agerton and Crysta Paulson were both 1-for-3.
Breana Still and Paulson both had one RBI each.
In game two, JDCC Jaime Sanders pitched a no hitter on the mound while the Lady Warhawks pounded out 16 hits while shutting out Bishop 9-0.
Sanders earned the win on the mound going six innings and allowing no hits, no walks and struck out two.
At the plate, Parker was 3-for-3 with three doubles and two RBIs.
JDCC pounded out seven doubles in the win with Steadham, Still, Paulson and Dymon Coachman all having one.
Agerton was 3-for-3 with one RBI.
