One day away from the scheduled start of the 12U all-star tournament in Brewton Thursday, the tournament bracket has once again changed.
After seeing Flomaton drop out of the tournament last week, Tri-County has since dropped out making a once eight-team tournament now a six-team tournament.
With the recent dropout of Tri-County, the tournament will now begin Friday at 6 p.m. when East Brewton and Opp meet each other. Following the 6 p.m. game, Brewton and Evergreen will play at 8 p.m.
The other two tournament teams—Andalusia and Covington County— will now have a first-round bye and will meet up against each other Saturday at noon. Andalusia was scheduled to play Tri-County Thursday night while Covington County was set to meet Flomaton also on Thursday.
The winners of the East Brewton/Opp and Brewton/Evergreen games will play at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23. The losers will play at 10 a.m. Saturday.
The winner of the Andalusia/Covington County game will advance to play at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 24 against the winner of the 2 p.m. game Saturday.
At 4 p.m. Saturday, the loser of the Andalusia/Covington County game will take on the winner of the 10 a.m. loser’s bracket game.
The tournament will resume Sunday at 2, 4 and 6 p.m.
The championship game will be played Monday at 6 p.m. with the extra “if-needed” game set for 8 p.m.
Making all-stars for the 2012 Brewton 12U Cal Ripken team is: Drew Williamson, Micah Flores, Matt Smith, Russell Smith, Jason Konsler, Hayden Atkinson, Daniel Blair, Daniel Reed, Hunter Johnson, Donovan Weaver, and Andrew Etheridge.
