Mrs. Monnie Cox Williams Winchester, 92, died Monday September 3, 2012 in Gainesville. She was a native of Brewton, and a resident of Gainesville since 1946. She had been very active in the Gainesville Womans Club, Gainesville Homemakers Club, and the Alachua County Safety Council. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church Sunday School and widows groups. She and her husband, Frank Winchester owned a window cleaning business. She was preceded in death by her son, B. Stephen Williams; nine of her brothers and sisters; her two husbands, Van Buren Williams and Frank Winchester; and her parents, Oren and Bettie Herrington Cox.
She is survived by her daughter, Gwen Williams Tillman; her sister Virginia Fenn of Birmingham, AL, two cousins Vivian Smith and Buddy (Bobbie) Herrington of Brewton; three grandchildren, Jennifer Williams, Christina Williams and Michael Williams; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Parkview Baptist Church in Gainesville. Burial followed at Forest Meadows Central with arrangements by Milam Funeral and Cremation Services of Gainesville.
