A Perdido man was killed Wednesday morning in an industrial accident in Flomaton, Escambia County Sheriff’s Department officials said.

Joseph Wayne Odom, 55, was pronounced dead at Advanced Recycling on Highway 31 in south Flomaton, deputies said.

He had been working on a piece of equipment’s hydraulic lines when the line lost pressure, causing the bucket to fall and pinning him in the equipment, officials said.

Personnel from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Escambia County Florida Ambulance, Friendship Fire Dept., Flomaton PD, and Flomaton Fire Department responded.
