A Brewton man is facing multiple charges after being arrested in Mobile Saturday after he was discovered asleep in his car.

Dustin Lee Mccellan, 30, of Brewton, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and precursors to manufacture methamphetamines. The suspect was also found with a handgun in his possession. An arrest was also made on the suspect stemming from an outstanding warrant from September regarding charges of manufacturing a controlled substance.

Reports say Mobile police officers were called to a gas station at 4880 Schillinger Rd. South after Mccellan was reported asleep in his car at about 3:20 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities found chemicals for used in the production of methamphetamines with Mccellan as well as a small bag containing some of the drug.

According to booking records, Mccellan remained in the Mobile County Metro Jail late Monday.
