She is survived by three children:  Lida McDowell (Roger), Linda Cone (Bill)and Broox Garrett, Jr. (Liz).  She was the proud grandmother of eight and knew and enjoyed her eighteen great-grandchildren.  She was an extraordinarily strong woman who cared for others throughout her life.  Age did not diminish her indomitable spirit, her fierce independence, unflinching determination, and quiet faith and strength of character.  She remains an inspiration to her family.
