Volunteering to clean a community

Members of Prophecy Motorcycle Club of Brewton gave up their Saturday morning last weekend, in order to clean up an area they have adopted on Hollinger and Brannan Streets.
Eddie Barton, one of the members of the club, said all of the work is being done by volunteers and will be an ongoing project of the group.
“We are a group of volunteers who want to help keep this community looking good by cleaning up,” Barton said. “We are a non-profit organization that banded together in 2010 to help our neighbors by cleaning their yards. We decided to just focus on a couple of blocks and keep it clean.”
Along with working to clean the community, the members of the group also used Saturday as an opportunity to begin gathering toys for the groups upcoming Christmas project.
“We have recently bought the old Mason Lodge on Brannon Street and made it our headquarters,” Barton said. “We are going to be working on collecting toys for Christmas. We will accept donations.”
Anyone wishing to make a donation to the group or to assist in other projects can contact any member of the group by making donations at the club house or by calling member Phil Jackson.
