Super 6 games underway in Auburn

The 2012 Super 6 began Thursday morning up on the plains of Auburn University and the Madison Academy Mustangs took down the Fayette County Tigers 31-7 for the 3A state championship.
Madison Academy finished the year 13-2 while Fayette County—the team that defeated W.S. Neal in round of the playoffs—finished as the state runner-up with a 12-3 record.
In other games Thursday in the 1A and 5A games, Brantley defeated Marion County with another shutout for the Bulldogs this season 33-0 in the 1A game while Spanish Fort defeated McAdory 45-14 in the 5A game.
Brantley finished the year 15-0 and had 10 shutouts in their 15-game season while Marion County finished 13-2. Spanish Fort and McAdory both finished the season with 14-1 records.
The southern bracket teams went 2-1 in games Thursday with the lone loss coming from Fayette County in the 3A game.
The Super 6 is set to resume Friday morning with the 4A, 2A and 6A games to be played at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively.
The 4A game will be between UMS-Wright and Oneonta while the 2A game will be played against Washington County and Tanner.
In the final game of the 2012 Super 6, the Hoover Bucs were scheduled to play Opelika.
