Georgia ‘Irene’ Jackson Smith

Mrs. Georgia “Irene” Jackson Smith, 77, died Sunday Dec. 30, 2012 at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native of Uriah, and a longtime resident of Brewton. She was a manager at the Delta Marts convenience store and a member of the Damascus Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gladden Smith and William Roy Cobb; three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Cobb and Tim Cobb, both of Brewton; two brothers, Robert Jackson of Brewton, and Leroy Jackson of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Eunice Jackson of East Brewton; three grandchildren, James Cobb, Steven Cobb, and Michelle Lee Cobb; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 2, from noon to 2 p.m. at  Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Farley officiating. Burial will follow at Weaver Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
