Mr. Ben Allen Smith, Jr., 56, of Travis Road died Dec. 7, 2012 in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. He was a native of Georgia and a long time resident of Brewton. He was the owner/operator of Ben Smith’s Lawn Care.
He is survived by a sister, Elaine Batson of Canton, Ga.; a brother, Donald Smith of Pine Lake, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Ken Batson; a sister-in-law, Taffee Smith; eight nieces and nephews; and a long-time friend, William Reed.
Graveside services were held Dec. 10, 2012 at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, Ga. with Speaker Donald Smith and Speaker Elaine Batson officiating with Striffler-Hamby Mortuary of Columbus, Ga., directing. Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
