ASCC gets revenge on JDCC basketball

Facing off against Alabama Southern—the lone team that the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team defeated this year—Monday in Monroeville, the Warhawks were dealt their sixth straight loss of the season as they took an 85-70 loss.
The Warhawks were outscored 39-32 in the first half and 46-38 in the second half to take the 15-point loss.
Devonte Pope led the Warhawks in the loss with 15 points. Pope was joined in double figures by Chris Oden’s 13 points and Adrian Rich’s 11. Dee Jay Braggs and Fletcher Forte both had nine points each while Anthony Bell had eight. Matt Bass chipped in three points and Corderrio Hasewood added two points in the loss.
Braggs led with 10 rebounds and Oden led with five assists. Braggs also led with two blocks in the loss while Forte led the Warhawks with three steals.
JDCC was 19-for-29 from the free throw line and shot 34.3 percent from the field. JDCC went 3-for-18 from the 3-point area for 16.7 percent.
JDCC, now 1-17 overall and 1-7, was scheduled to be back in action Thursday night at home when they host LBW. Game time is set for 7 p.m. in Brewton.
JDCC will travel to Chattahoochee Valley Thursday, Feb. 14 for a 6:30 p.m. game and will return home to face Enterprise on Monday, Feb. 18. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
