In a rescheduled game Wednesday from an earlier rainout this season, the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team was swept by Pensacola State College.
JDCC lost game one 5-2 and was blanked in game two 9-0 to fall to 2-6 this season.
“Game two did not go to well,” JDCC head coach Misti Nims said. “We allowed six runs on two outs in the top of the fifth. Our defense fell apart and we could not recover. I was please with our overall performance in game one. We had opportunities to score but we hit right into the PSC defense and left 11 runners on base. I am very optimistic about the season but we just have to stay focused and learn from our mistakes.”
JDCC will play at the Beach Classic in Panama City Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, JDCC will play at Pensacola State before coming home on Saturday March 2 for a 1 and 3 p.m. doubleheader against Chattahoochee Valley.
