No. 1-ranked WSN baseball moves to 7-0

The No. 1-ranked W.S. Neal Eagle baseball team remained undefeated Friday night after they defeated Clarke County 7-4 to improve to 7-0. It was the third win over the Bulldogs this season.
W.S. Neal built a 6-0 lead over Clarke County through the first four innings after scoring two runs in the first, one in the third and three in the fourth.
Clarke County scored all four of their runs in the fifth inning to cut the lead to 6-4. After a scoreless sixth inning for both teams, the Eagles of East Brewton scored their final run in the seventh and held the Bulldogs scoreless in the half of the inning to get the win by three.
Keith Bradley earned the win on the mound for the Eagles. Bradley went 4 1/3 innings and allowed six hits and struck out three. Jeremy Myers went the next two innings and struck out one while surrendering two hits. Tyler Joyner went the final 2/3 of an inning and allowed one hit and struck out one.
At the plate for the Eagles, Christian Purvis, Joyner, Miles Powell, Mike Williams, Cam Blackman and Bradley all had hits. Myers was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs and Brian Settle was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Purvis, Godwin and Joyner also had one RBI each in the win.
W.S. Neal will travel to Flomaton Thursday for a 4 p.m. JV start. The varsity will play after the JV game. The Eagles will play at Monroe County Friday with the JV starting at 4 p.m. and the varsity at 6 p.m.
