JDCC softball swept by Parkland College of Illinois

It may be cold in Illinois right now, the location of Parkland College, but the Lady Cobra softball team swung some hot bats Thursday afternoon to take down the Jefferson Davis Lady Warhawk softball team in a doubleheader sweep.
JDCC lost game one 11-1 in five innings and lost game two by a score of 9-8 to fall to 6-12 this season.
In game one, Parkland had 12 hits to take down the Lady Warhawks. Of the 12, nine were singles, two were doubles off the fence and one was a homerun.
The Lady Cobras held JDCC to one lone run in the third while scoring one of their own in the first, five in the third, one in the fourth and fourth in the fifth.
Jessica Swindle took the loss for JDCC going 2 2/3 innings.
At the plate for JDCC, Morgan Agerton, Dymon Coachman, Laura Zeegars, Jennifer Fisher, Kayla Watson and Sarah Beth Watkins all had hits. Watkins had a double in the loss. Zeegars had the lone RBI.
In game two, JDCC was up 7-3 going into the sixth inning and lost by one.
Zeegers had a two-run homer and went 2-4, Watkins was 2-for-3, Fisher was 2-for-3, and Paige Harwell was 2-for-4.
Elissa Kelly took the loss going four innings and allowed eight hits and seven runs. Rachel Seitz went three innings and allowed two hits and two runs.
