The Bayside Academy Admirals rained on the T.R. Miller Tiger baseball team’s parade Saturday at home as they swept the Tigers in an area doubleheader to take the series.
T.R. Miller claimed game one Friday in Daphne 7-2 to improve to 9-2 overall this season and start the year 1-0 in area play.
In games Saturday in Brewton, Bayside took game one 9-4 to even the series and then clinched the series with a 7-1 in game two to drop the Tigers to 9-4 overall and to 1-2 in area play.
“We played really well (Friday) night,” Tiger head coach Jim Hart said. “Kevin (Davis) pitched well and we came out and swung the bats and finished with 14 hits. The thing that we wanted to accomplish, as far as producing runs for him when he is on the mound, and we did that. (Saturday), we let bad innings cost us two ballgames and it happened in both games. Darby (Blacks) struggled a little bit on the mound the first two innings then he found his groove. After that, you can’t ask him to pitch any better than he did. We didn’t swing it very well in either game and consequently, you are not going to win games like that.”

Game one: TRM 7, BA 2
In game one, Kevin Davis went the complete game and allowed two hits, four walks, one earned run and struck out 14 to help the Tigers to the 7-2 win.
Bayside scored one run each in the first and fifth innings while T.R. Miller scored three in the fourth, two in the fifth, and one in the sixth and seventh innings.
Jones Manning and Jacob Fillmore both had a single each while Davis had a single, double and a homerun and three RBIs.
Tripp Floyd had a single and a double and one RBI while Dominique Jackson and Hunter Brittain had a single each. Ryan Hunt had two singles.

Game two: BA 9, TRM 4
In the first game Saturday, T.R. Miller led 3-1 after the first inning before being outscored 8-1 the rest of the game to take a 9-4 loss.

Kyle Davis and Hunt pitched in the loss with Davis being the pitcher of record.
The duo went seven innings and allowed nine runs, eight hits and struck out four.

Game three: BA 7, TRM 1
In the deciding third game, T.R. Miller gave up seven runs in the first two innings on four hits and three errors to lose by six.
