Brewton police are always on the look out for driver who break the law, but for 14 days special attention will paid to those committing driving infractions.

Lt. Brock Holt with the Brewton Police Department said special patrols will be on the streets from May 20 through June 2 in a “Click It or Ticket” patrol event.

“We’ll have extra patrol going on with officers looking specifically for those drivers who are breaking the law,” Holt said. ‘We’ll be watching for drunk driving, driving without seat belts being used as well as a number of other driving offenses.”

The extra patrols during the period that will cover the Memorial Day weekend holiday are possible thanks to grant funding, Holt said.

The patrols will begin at 12 a.m. May 20 and will continue through midnight June 2.
