Mrs. Peggy Sue Evans McGowin, 70, of Snowden Street died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in a Bay Minette medical facility after a brief illness. She was a native and life long resident of Escamba County. She was a member of Dogwood Hills Assembly of God Church, a 1960 graduate of W.S. Neal High School, a former teacher’s aide with the Brewton City School System, and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Terrell and Bessie Hanberry Evans; and a grandson, Ryan Dasher.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie McGowin of Mobile, and Stacey (Samson Jones) McGowin of East Brewton; a grandson Rashawn “RJ” Jones; and a special friend, Middleton (Doc) Hammac of East Brewton.
Visitation will be held Saturday May 25, from 10 until 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Quick officiating. Burial will follow in Green Acres Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
