W.D. Phillips

Mr. W.D. Phillips, 91, of East Brewton, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Florida and a life long resident of East Brewton. He was a member of the Macedonia Holiness Church and a retired contractor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Sellers Phillips; a son, Donald Phillips; a daughter, Patricia Conway; a brother, Calvin Phillips; three sisters, Thelma Phillips, Minnie Jones and May Butts; and a special friend, Mazie Gay.
He is survived by a son, James Phillips of East Brewton; a daughter, Evelyn (Byron) Story of Destin, Fla.; his brothers, Ray Phillips, Tim Phillips, Paul Phillips, and Glen Phillips, all of Sellersville, Fla.; his sisters, Rita Sellers and Liz Gromius, both of Sellersville, and Jean Boutwell and Kathy McNaughton, both of Dixonville; 22 grandchildren; a number of great-grand-children and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 25, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Lamar Butts officiating. Burial followed in Sellersville Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
