Members of the Brewton Kiwanis Club strive to meet a variety of needs throughout the community and a recent contribution to an area volunteer fire department will help countless people in the area.
The Kiwanis group recently donated four Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) packs to the McCall Volunteer Fire Department.
According to members, the equipment will be used by the department to provide cross-training for personnel.
The SCBA equipment is routinely utilized at local oil field sites when emergency situations arrise.
VFD officials said the equipment will enhance the department’s ability to respond to hazardous material incidents.
The used fire equipment donation was made possible through the generosity of one of the Brewton Kiwanis Club members, and is valued at $5000.
