Mrs. Mabel Faye Findley Brantley, 96, of Foshee Road died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at her residence after a brief illness. She was a native of Brooklyn and a long time resident of the Foshee community. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of East Brewton, a volunteer for Redemption Promise Ministry and a retired loom tender from the Brewton Ribbon Mill with 34 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morey Brantley; and a son-in-law, Rob Reed.
She is survived by a daughter, Audrey “Boots” Reed of Brewton; a brother, Albert Findley of Foley; three grandchildren, Shelby (Harold) Sellers of Brewton, Beth (Tony) Bell of Walnut Hill, Fla., and Doug (Donna) Reed of Uriah; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 27, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Adam Armstrong officiating. Burial followed in Catawba Springs Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Condolences may be sent and obituaries can be read at williamsmemorialchapel.com.
