Samuel Calvin Howard

Mr. Samuel Calvin Howard, 85, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 in a Brewton hospital. He was a native and life long resident of Brewton. He served in the U.S. Army, was a welder by trade and a member of Elim Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a beloved son, William Jesse “Buck” Howard.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bernice Evans Howard of Brewton; two daughters, Patricia Ann (Cliff) Smith of Ft. Payne, and Brenda Lee (Tracy Iler) Howard of Brewton; one sister, Pauline McGowin of East Brewton; two grandchildren, Renee (Johnny) Nelson, and Stefanie (Shannon) Smith; eight great-grandchildren, Matt Martin, Josh Martin, Sara Smith, Luke Smith, Courtney Nelson, Braxton Nelson, Madison Nelson, and River Nelson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 6 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Woodrow Jackson, and Brother Royce Beasley officiating. Burial will follow in May Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cliff Smith, Tracy Iler, Johnny Nelson, Shannon Smith, Dwight Evans, and Larry Fuqua.
