A Wing man was killed Monday night when he apparently lost control of his motorcycle on a Florida highway.

Robin D. Lucas, 53, of Wing, was killed around 7:20 p.m. Monday on Kennedy Bridge Road in Okaloosa County according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol’s Tallahassee Regional Communications Center.

Lucas was driving a 2006 Honda motorcycle along a stretch of Kennedy Bridge Road just east of Bullard Church Road when the crash occurred. Lucas was apparently approaching the left curt at Kennedy Bridge in the eastbound lane when he failed to negotiate the curve. The right side of the vehicle struck the bridge railing on the south side of the structure resulting in the motorcycle then overturning. The vehicle came to rest in the westbound lane of the roadway.

Troopers said Lucas was pronounced dead at the scene by members of the Okaloosa County EMS unit responding to the call.

No other details of the incident have been made available. The crash remains under investigation.
