Ruby B. Salley

Mrs. Ruby B. Salley, 99, died Friday, July 26, 2013. She was a native of Walker County, Ga. She received her bachelor’s degree from West Georgia College and her master’s degree from Berry College. She; taught school in the Chattooga School system for many years, a member of Kappa Kappa Iota and the Horizon Baptist Fellowship. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Confederacy, the Chattooga County Garden Club, was an Emeritus Judge of the National Garden Club, member of the Chattooga County Garden Club, and member  of the Chattooga County Historical Society.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Salley; her parents, lee and Lemmie Hood Baker; her daughter, Mary Salley; her sisters, Dorothy Beatrice Baker Cawthon and Ellen Louise Baker.
Memorial services were held Friday, August 2, at 3 p.m. from the Horizon Baptist Fellowship with Dr. Jerry Mahan officiating and Earle Rainwater Funeral Home directing.
