James David Odom

Mr. James David Odom, 58, of Dixon Nursery Road in Brewton died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Monroeville, a former resident of Flomaton where he attended Flomaton High School before moving to Brewton. He was a deacon and music director at First Open Bible Church, taught taekwondo type 1 karate and was a security guard.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Leonard Odom; and a sister, Bernice Odom.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Johnson Odom of Brewton; mother, Lillie (John) McKinley of Atmore; one daughter, Michele Odom of Brewton; one brother, Tim Odom of Brewton; four sisters, Janice (Mickey) Bush of Robertsdale, Judy (Grady) Harris of Flomaton, Barbara (Johnny) Burkett of Atmore, Sandra (Mitchell) McKinley of Atmore; and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Skidmore officiating. Interment followed in Green Acres Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
