Brewton Head Start holds special Thursday program

The Brewton Head Start center had a special program Thursday morning for family, friends and community leaders.
Led by teachers and director Marjerie Sawyer, the students did special class programs and released balloons into the air as the grand finale. The students released pink balloons for Breast Cancer month, red balloons for fire safety, blue balloons for child abuse prevention and purple for domestic violence.
Representatives from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department, Brewton City Council and the Escambia County courthouse were on hand for the event.
Around 50 students participated in Thursday’s event.
