The T.R. Miller Band Boosters are selling band calendars for 2014. The calendars are $5 or $6 with 5 free listings. If you are interested in purchasing a calendar, please contact your favorite band member or call Jennifer Pollitte at 251-727-4281.
The T.R. Miller Tiger football team will be hosting the first round of the class 3A state playoffs against American Christian Academy. The game will be played on Friday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at Brewton Municipal Stadium. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. All spectators should remember that the AHSAA does not permit reserved seating for any playoff game. All season tickets and complimentary ticket holders must purchase tickets. Tickets may be purchased at T.R. Miller High School. All tickets are $8 and the price is set by the AHSAA.
The American Legion Auxiliary is seeking new members. If you are a descendant of a veteran, call Laura Cardwell at 363-3053 for more information.
Nov. 6
A Living with Loss grief support group will meet at noon at Comfort Care Hospice, located at 722 Douglas Avenue in Brewton. A light lunch will be served. For more information contact 867-6232.
Nov. 9
A gospel singing will be held at Shady Grove Holiness Church, located at 4451 Foshee Road in Brewton. The featured group is The Harrelson’s from Opp, Alabama. Also singing is Brewton’s own Higher Ground. The signing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. and everyone is invited to attend.
A Hunter Education class will be held from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at JDCC in Brewton. Pre-registration is required by logging onto: www.outdooralabama.com/hunting/education/. The class is free and open to the public. Social Security numbers are required while everything else will be furnished. Anyone born on or after Aug. 1, 1977 is required to pass a hunter education class prior to purchasing a hunting license. If you have any further questions call 251-626-5474.
The Kennedy/Chavers Family will be holding their first annual family reunion event with four generations present. The gathering will be held at The L House on the Boardwalk in downtown Brewton. Gathering will begin at 10 a.m.
A benefit will be held for Larry Keith Davis at the Lenox Community Center at 11 a.m. until. Hamburger plates will be sold along with pulled pork plates, Conecuh sausage dogs plates and hot dog plates. There will be a cake auction and a miscellaneous auction. A gospel singing will also take place. Davis had Lymphoma Cancer for the third time. All funds will go to assist Davis. The singing group Fresh Anointing will be in concert at Cedar Hill Baptist Church from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Everyone is invited.
Greater Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church will be celebrating its 124th year church anniversary at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Wayne Nevelous and his church family from Unity In Christ Church of Evergreen will be the guest. Pastor Robert Straughn invites the public to attend.
