What would you like to see at the John L. Fisher Community Center?

An open meeting to discuss ideas for the community center, located at the old Brewton Middle School, will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Brewton Civic Center behind city hall.

Residents are invited to share their ideas about the community garden, recreation and sports activities, kitchen needs, building maintenance and community gatherings.

The city is in the process of hammering out a long-term lease with the community center committee, which has been working to clean up the old middle school in preparation for new activities there.

The center has been the site of several fundraisers, and there is already a community garden on the grounds.

Everyone is invited to attend the meeting.
