WOW Radio playing Christmas music

With the month of December now upon us and the days until Christmas getting closer, WOW Radio 90.9 has announced they will be playing Christmas music now through Christmas Day.
On the local radio station, classics like Bing Cosby’s White Christmas and Burl Ives’ Holly Jolly Christmas can be heard along with fun new music from WOW favorites like Casting Crowns, Matthew West, Mercy Me and The Newsboys.
Dale Riddick, General Manager of the station, said the music the station will be playing is “very festive”.
“Some of the songs we will be playing includes the traditional classic songs and carols by Bing Crosby, Brenda Lee, Nat King Cole, Judy Garland, etc., plus many songs featuring artists we play everyday like Amy Grant, Casting Crowns, Steven Curtis Chapman, MercyMe, etc,” he said. “Our emphasis with the music and the messages in between songs is sharing the importance of family, giving, and the birth of Jesus, the reason we celebrate. Our programming will also include sharing different local events, musicals, plays and concerts that are happening throughout the Christmas season.”
Riddick also said besides wanting to spread the joy of the Christmas season throughout the station’s listening area, he hopes to introduce many people to WOW 90.9 who may have never listened before.
“While the music is all Christmas right now, our message really doesn’t change the rest of the year,” he said. “Our music is positive and encouraging and our constant message is there is true hope found in Jesus Christ and joy in serving Him.”
WOW radio will be celebrating their fourth anniversary of being on the air in Brewton on Saturday, December 14.
