Mrs. Sallie Poindexter, 93, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013.

She was a member of A.M.E. Zion Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Poindexter; one daughter, Melvina; one son, Leonard; her parents, Isiah and Bunner Andrews; one sister and three brothers.

She is survived by a daughter, Gloria Jean of Queens, New York; one son Jerry (Edna) of Bayonne, New Jersey; two sisters, Mattie (Clyde) Parker and Clara Mae (Willie) Millender both of Repton; one brother, Case (Lillian) Andrews of Repton; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and many devoted friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Belleville Foulk A.M.E. Zion Church of Evergreen, with the Rev. Raymond Mallard officiating. Interment followed in Belleville Foulk Cemetery in Evergreen.
