Get your favorite dessert recipe ready: The City of Brewton is sponsoring a bakeoff Thursday.

As part of the ongoing Brewton Reborn campaign, the city will hold a bakeoff at 5 p.m. Thursday at Thou Art.

Anyone interested can register at city hall. The cost to enter is $10, and there will be a $50 prize for winners.

The categories include cookies, cakes, pies and a wild card division for anything that falls outside of those three categories.

Connie Baggett, director of program management for the City of Brewton, said people can bring their baked goods to Thou Art shortly before 5 Thursday so they can set up and get ready for judging.

The bakeoff is part of this month’s Brewton Reborn tasks, which are: put up a swing; organize a block party; and bake extra and share.
