Brewton City and Escambia County school systems are monitoring the weather to determine whether to cancel classes at all this week.

South Alabama is under a winter weather advisory, with as much as 2 to 4 inches of snow expected Tuesday night and early Wednesday, and freezing rain and sleet forecast to start falling Wednesday afternoon.

City school officials said school is currently scheduled for Tuesday, with the worst of the wintry weather expected to hit Tuesday night. They will notify parents if that changes. Wednesday classes are questionable and will depend on the weather.

County school officials said they will make a decision about classes when more is known about the weather situation.
