JDCC baseball sweeps LBW

JDCC’s baseball team picked up their first conference sweep Saturday at home as the Warhawks swept LBW 2-0 to improve to 4-4 in conference play and to 6-10 overall.
JDCC took game one 7-6 and earned a 10-5 win in game two.
In game one, JDCC fell behind 5-0 in the top of the first, but outscored LBW 7-1 the remainder of the game to get the one-run win.
Nick Helton and Taylor Baynes combined for the pitching win in game one for JDCC as the duo went seven innings and allowed seven hits, six runs, one earned, walked three and struck out two.
At the plate for the Warhawks of JDCC, Jonathan Moore, Logan Hill, Craig Headley, and Alex Jones all had a hit each while John-Mark Cosby had three and Dake Rivers had two.
Hill had a homerun while Jones added a double. Cosby and Hill had two RBIs each while Headley and Rivers had one each.
In game two, Headley, Rivers and Matthew Holmes had one hit each while Jonathan Moore had three and Hill had two. Moore had a double along with Hill and Rivers. Moore led with four RBIs while Hill and Holmes had one each.
No pitching stats from game two were known as of press time.
