JDCC baseball suffers 8-2 loss to CVCC

The Chattahoochee Valley CC Pirates built a 6-0 lead over JDCC’s baseball team through three innings to help lift them to an 8-2 win over the Warhawks Tuesday afternoon in Brewton.
CVCC led JDCC 2-0 after the first inning, 6-0 after the third inning, 7-0 after four and added one run in the eighth inning while holding JDCC to two runs in the sixth inning to get the win by six. The Pirates pounded out 12 hits while holding JDCC to five runs. The Warhawks committed three runs while CVCC made none.
At the plate for JDCC, John-Mark Cosby went 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI while Logan Hill was 1-for-3. Alex Jones added one RBI while Michael Fox was 2-for-4 and Tanner Zant was 1-for-2.
On the mound for the Warhawks, Trey Marshall took the loss as he went the first two innings and allowed four hits, two earned runs, walked two and struck out one.
Nick Helton, Garrett Davis, Tyler Henry and Ryan Roberts also pitched in the win.
All JDCC’s pitchers combined to go nine innings and allowed 12 hits, eight runs, five earned, walked four and struck out five in the loss.
JDCC fell to 7-15 with the loss.
