TRM track teams win final home meet Thursday

In their final home meet of the season and final regular season meet before sectionals Thursday, the T.R. Miller boys and girls track team posted another win in a nine-team meet.
Joined by W.S. Neal, J.U. Blacksher, Hillcrest, Red Level, Monroe County, Opp, Florala, and Escambia County, T.R. Miller’s boys posted 167 points to claim first place while the girls walloped their opponents with a total team score of 300 points—257 points more than second place Opp’s 43.
In the boys meet, Hillcrest came in second place with 130 points followed by J.U. Blacksher’s 69 and Monroe County’s 63. Opp posted 60 points for fifth place while Florala had 20 points for sixth place. W.S. Neal tallied 18 points for seventh place while Escambia County of Atmore totaled 14 points for eighth place. Red Level scored one point as they rounded out the nine-team meet.
In the girls meet, J.U. Blacksher was two points behind Opp’s 43 points with 41 points for third place. Hillcrest scored 32 points for fourth place and was followed by Escambia County in fifth place with 31 points, Monroe County’s 24 points for sixth place, W.S. Neal’s 12 points for seventh place, and Red Level’s 11 points for eighth place. Florala failed to score as they took ninth place.
