Congratulations to Brewton on your very first entry in the America in Bloom (AIB) competition!

America in Bloom’s goal is to assist communities in becoming a destination to live, work and recreate. Evaluations are done throughout the country and the individual results along with awards in like population categories will be presented at the National Symposium in Philadelphia, Oct. 2-4, 2014.

America in Bloom is an overview of a number of facets of your community. The six criteria judged – environmental effort, heritage conservation, urban forestry, landscaped areas, floral display and overall impression – are designed to bring communities and people together to discover the many features of the hidden gems that lie within. The judges provide seasoned insight and consultation toward improvements and their recommendations will further assist Brewton to promote and achieve a holistic, functional and vibrant community.

Two judges, Sue Amatangelo and Marlborough Packard, visited Brewton April 28-29 to determine, praise and challenge your community’s progress in discovering and touting its hidden amenities and attributes along with improving the environment and quality of life of its citizens.

We heartily commend you for your efforts and involvement in America in Bloom!
Congratulations to the America in Bloom Committee led by Connie Baggett, the honorable Mayor Yancey Lovelace, city departments, businesses, volunteers and everyone who contributed to this very significant effort. Our sincere thanks to all of Brewton for your wonderful hospitality.
