The Children’s Policy Council recently distributed more than $40,000 in grant funds to local municipalities.
Some $17,123 was given to the City of Brewton and $22,923 to East Brewton for beautification of a local park and to law enforcement for the purpose of combating underage drinking. This is part of a coalition grant between Escambia and Covington County awarded by the Department of Mental Health Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant.
Also, Circuit Judge David Jordan was also honored for more than 10 years of service to the local CPC, a state mandated council dedicated to identifying the needs of youth, identifying resources and implementing programs that deal with issues affecting youth throughout the county.
