From staff reports

In a doubleheader Monday in Atmore, the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles went 1-1 to see their record go to 12-8 this season.
In game one, W.S. Neal defeated the Lady Blue Devils 2-0 (25-20 and 26-24). In the second game of the day, the Lady Eagles lost 2-1 (25-21, 20-25, and 13-15).
In game one, Tykeria Nolan had six service winners, one ace, two kills and two blocks while Jodi Busby had three service winners and seven kills.
Karissa Johnson had five service winners and three aces while Haleigh Dubose led with 10 service winners, one ace and four kills.
In the second game of the day, Nolan had five service winners, two aces, and one kill while Madison Winchester had five service winners and two aces.
Marishia Fraser had five service winners and three aces while Dubose had five kills.
WSN head coach Jason Blaney said his team struggled Monday night against a very athletic and well-coached Atmore team.
“We were able to come away with a win in game one, but Atmore did a great job taking
us out of our game,” Blaney said. “Our reaction to the ball was not as good as it has been
and that is accredited to Atmore making adjustments and we were unable to. We will work at practice these next two days to correct that and work on our footwork and communication before we take on Pleasant Home at home Thursday
with JV starting at 4 p.m.”
