BMS Lady Tigers improve to 7-0

Hosting Andalusia Thursday afternoon, the Brewton Middle School girl’s basketball team remained perfect this season while the boys lost.
The Lady Tigers won 39-21 to move to 7-0 this season while the boys lost 22-19 to fall to 2-5 overall.
Both teams will finish their season with a home game against Flomaton on Tues., Dec. 16. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. in Brewton.

BMS Lady Tigers 39, Andalusia 21
Three Lady Tigers scored in double figures to lead BMS in a 39-21 win over Andalusia Thursday.
Aleria Smith had 13 points, Janasia Nettles had 11 and Averie Johnson had 10 points to lead BMS in the 18-point win.
Ravion Ewing chipped in three points and Kayla Floyd had two.
BMS led 13-10 after one quarter and 24-16 at the half. In the third quarter, BMS held an 8-3 scoring advantage and went on to lead the fourth quarter with a 7-2 advantage to help aid in the win.

Andalusia 22, BMS boys 19
The BMS boys got within three points of Andalusia late in the game, but suffered a 22-19 loss.
Brewton led 6-5 after one quarter of play, but was outscored 10-4 in the second quarter to trail 15-10 at the half.
In the third quarter, Andalusia outscored Brewton 7-6 to increase their lead to 22-16 heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, Brewton outscored Andalusia 3-0.
Jamal Duggans led with eight points in the loss while Cody Hall had five. Jaylin Dees, Toby Jenkins and Micah Flores all had two points each in the loss.
BMS was 1-for-6 from the free throw line while Andalusia shot 3-for-15.
