JDCC softball sweeps Carl Sandburg College Sunday

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks softball team ended their three-game losing streak Sunday at home with a doubleheader sweep of Carl Sandburg College.
The Lady Warhawks defeated CSC 8-4 in game one and 4-0 in game two to move to 8-13 overall this season.

Game one: JDCC 8, CSC 4
JDCC used a six-run fifth inning to double up Carl Sandburg 8-4 in game one Sunday.
The two teams were tied 1-1 after four innings before JDCC broke the game open with a 7-1 lead after five innings. After CSC cut the lead to 7-4 in the sixth inning, JDCC plated one more run in the bottom of the inning to get the win by four runs.
Audrey Hamric, Hannah Brake, Jordan Swindle and Moriah Trujillo all had one hit each in the win while Chelsey Ramer went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBIs to lead in the win. Ramer had a double and a triple while Trujillo had a homerun.
Paige Wooley and Swindle had one RBI each while Trujillo had two and Ramer had three.
Alicia Richardson went 2-for-3 in the win with two doubles.
Brake and Kaitlin Hadaway pitched in the win with Brake being the pitcher of record.
The duo combined to go seven innings and allowed three hits, four runs, non earned, walked three, struck out nine and hit one batter.

Game two: JDCC 4, CSC 0
In game two, JDCC earned a 4-0 win to complete the sweep.
Hadaway went the distance in the pitching circle to lead JDCC in the win as she went all seven innings and allowed three hits, no runs, no walks and struck out 10.
At the plate, Wooley was 1-for-1 with one RBI while Brake was 2-for-2 with a double and a homerun and one RBI. Brake has seven homeruns this season.
Swindle was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI while Caroline Clark was 1-for-3 with one RBI.
