Faulkner State sweeps JDCC softball

Faulkner State dropped Jefferson Davis Community College’s Lady Warhawks softball team’s record back to .500 overall and in conference play Tuesday as they swept JDCC.
In game one, JDCC lost 3-1 and suffered a 6-3 loss in game two. The two losses made JDCC’s overall record fall to 19-19 and their conference record to 3-3.

Game one: FSCC 3, JDCC 1
JDCC led FSCC 1-0 in the second inning, but fell to three unanswered runs to take a 3-1 loss in game one. FSCC scored one run in the third inning to tie the game up and added two more in the fourth to get the win by two.
Kaitlin Hadaway took the loss in the pitching circle for JDCC as she allowed five hits, three runs, two earned, walked none and struck out one.
At the plate for JDCC, Paige Wooley, Hannah Brake, Savannah Allen and Katlin Bryars all had one hit each. Bryars had a double in the loss and Wooley had one RBI.
Audrey Hamric went 2-for-4 for the Lady Warhawks.

Game two: FSCC 6, JDCC 3
In game two, FSCC doubled up JDCC 6-3 to earn the sweep over the Lady Warhawks.
FSCC led JDCC 3-1 after one inning and 5-1 after four innings. JDCC cut the lead to 5-3 in the top of the sixth inning, but FSCC added one more of their own to get the win by three.
Hannah Brake and Hadaway pitched in the loss with Brake being the pitcher of record. Brake went four innings and allowed nine hits, five runs, two earned, walked one and struck out none.
Hadaway went the final two innings and allowed three hits, one unearned run and walked one.
At the plate for JDCC, Brake went 2-for-3 with one RBI and a homerun. The homerun was Brake’s 11th of the season, which puts her third in the nation in the category.
Hamric, Chelsey Ramer, Savannah Allen and Bryars all had one hit each with Hamric having two RBIs.
