TRM softball now 11-4

T.R. Miller’s varsity softball team improved to 11-4 overall with a 3-1 record in their last four games.
The Lady Tigers went 1-1 in a round robin tournament Friday at home against Escambia County and Jay.
The Lady Tigers defeated Escambia County 9-1, but lost to Jay 6-5.
On Monday, TRM traveled to Faulkner State in Bay Minette to play a doubleheader with Batch County of Kentucky.
The Lady Tigers swept the doubleheader as they won game one 13-3 and game two 12-7.

Friday game one: TRM 9, EC 1
Despite having only four hits, TRM defeated ECHS of Atmore 9-1. TRM trailed 1-0 after one inning, but scored nine unanswered to get the win.
Steely Ruzic pitched TRM to the win as she went all five innings and allowed two hits, one unearned run, walked none, hit one and struck out four.
At the plate, Ruzic had a triple and Myra Reiss had a homerun.
Anna Grace White and Reiss both went 1-for-2 while Krystal Bell and Ruzic were both 1-for-3. Reiss had three RBIs, Gabbi Solomon had two along with Ruzic and Bell had one.

Friday game two: Jay 6, TRM 5
Leading Jay 4-3 heading into the seventh inning, TRM was outscored 3-1 by the Lady Royals to suffer a 6-5 loss.
Taylor Austin suffered the pitching loss as she went all seven innings and allowed six hits, six runs, three earned, walked three, struck out one and hit one batter.
TRM out-hit Jay 10-6 in the loss, but made three errors to Jay’s one.
Austin went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and one RBI while Reiss and Mallori Floyd both had one hit each. Floyd had one RBI along with Krystal Bell.
Ruzic went 3-for-4 for the Lady Tigers with two triples. Leslie Holmes added two hits and one RBI in the loss.

Monday game one: TRM 13, Bath County, Ky. 3
With the game tied 3-3 after the top of the fifth inning, TRM scored 10 runs in the bottom of the inning to get a 13-3 win. The Lady Tigers had 15 hits in the win.
At the plate for the Tigers, Austin, Reiss and Floyd led in the win. Austin had a homerun and two RBIs while Reiss had a double and a triple and one RBI. Floyd finished with a double and one RBI.
Reiss had three hits while Mary Madison Brown, Madison Douglas and Holmes had two each. Austin, Floyd, Bell and Steely Ruzic had one hit each. Brown, Grace Ruzic, and Bell had one RBI each. Douglas had three RBIs in the win and Steely Ruzic had two.
In the pitching circle, Austin went all five innings and allowed five hits, three runs, two earned, walked none, struck out three and hit one batter.

Monday game two: TRM 12, Bath County, Ky. 7
In game two, TRM led 12-0 after four innings and earned a sweep with a 12-7 win.
TRM used four pitchers in the win in Kaleigh Folsom, Anna Grace White, Reiss and Steely Ruzic. Folsom earned the win.
The quartet of pitchers combined to allow seven hits, seven runs, five earned, walked four, struck out seven and hit three batters.
At the plate, Folsom, Floyd, Steely Ruzic and Mekiah Williams all had hits. Brown, Reiss and Solomon had two hits. Brown led with three RBIs while Folsom, Reiss, Solomon, Amelia Peach, Janazia Nettles and Sara Grace Gerety had one RBI each.
