Brewton and EB 12U teams both 2-1

Through three games, both the Brewton and East Brewton 12U all-star softball teams had a record of 2-1 and were scheduled to meet up against each other Monday night in Brewton.
EB opened tournament play with a win over Tri-County and then took down NWE 16-5 before falling to Covington County later in the day Saturday.
Brewton opened with an 11-3 loss to CC, but then defeated Tri-County 21-7 and NWE 16-3.
Against CC, Chloe Smith, Sara Scott, Sailor Smith, Kate Najor and Abby Terrell all had one hit each while Courtland Salter had two hits. Terrell had a double. Salter pitched in the loss as she went four innings and struck out three.
Against Tri-County, Smith had two hits and Scott had three his with one being a double. Salter added a hit and Sailor Smith had three hits. Makayla Mitchell added one hit and Najor had two hits with one being a double. Emma Claire Hayes finished with one hit for Brewton.
Salter earned the pitching win and had five strikeouts. Mitchell also pitched in the win.
No other stats or game information from East Brewton’s games were known as of press time.
Brewton and East Brewton were scheduled to meet up against each other Monday night in Brewton in the tournament semifinals. The winner earned the rate to play for the championship against CC.
In 10U action, no scores or stats were known for Brewton or EB.
Brewton went 0-2 as they lost to CC and East Brewton. EB went 1-2 as they lost to Tri-County, defeated Brewton, and then fell to Tri-County again.

Brewton 16, NWE 3
Leading NWE 3-0 before a two-hour rain delay Saturday, Brewton exploded for 12 runs in the third inning to claim a 16-3 win over Northwest Escambia County.
Salter earned the pitching win as she went three innings of work and struck out six and allowed one run on one hit. Mitchell went the fourth inning and allowed two runs on two hits.
At the plate for Brewton, Chloe Smith had one hit while Scott had two hits. Salter added two hits and Sailor Smith had one hit. Addi Smith had a double.
Brewton benefitted from nine walks and four hit batters in the win.

EB 16, NWE 5
EB moved to 2-0 in their tournament games with a 16-5 win over NWE Saturday as they used a seven-run sixth inning to aid in the win.
At the plate for EB, Madison White had two hits including one being a double. Courtney Dudley had a two-run homerun in the sixth inning while Makayla Crook had a two-run homerun in the third inning. Katelyn Wilson also had one hit.
In the pitching circle, Dudley, Taylor Peters and White all pitched with Dudley earning the pitching win.
The trio allowed five hits and struck out eight.
