JDCC volleyball starts 0-2

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks volleyball team began its 2015 Saturday in the Southern Union tournament and came back with an 0-2 record.
JDCC lost to Faulkner State 2-0 and Lawson State 2-0.
Against Faulkner State, JDCC lost 25-19 and 25-18.
Against Lawson State, JDCC lost set one 25-18 and set two by a score of 25-17.
Against FSCC, Kyli Miner led offensively with six kills followed by Jessica Porter’s four and Jessica Lewis’ three.
Anna Kennedy led the way defensively with 14 digs out of the libero position with Porter having 10 digs. Lauren Merts had 10 setting assists.
Against Lawson, Jessica Lewis had five kills while Porter had four. Kennedy once again led the way defensively with nine digs.
JDCC is scheduled to be back in action Wednesday when they travel to take on Faulkner State at 6 p.m.
JDCC will travel to Selma on Thurs., Sept. 3, when they will take on Wallace State Community College at 5 p.m.
JDCC’s first home game will be Sat., Sept. 5, when they will host Southern Union at 1 p.m.
