WSNMS football edges out BMS Thursday

Brewton Middle School’s football team travelled to East Brewton Thursday night to take on W.S. Neal Middle School and suffered a 22-20 loss.
WSNMS led Brewton 8-7 in the second quarter before BMS took a 14-8 lead with 1:16 left in the second quarter. The Tigers led the Eagles by six points at the half.
In thee third quarter, WSNMS took a 16-14 lead with 6:01 left to play before Brewton reclaimed the lead at the 2:49 mark to hold a 20-16 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, WSNMS took a 22-20 lead over Brewton with 3:05 left in the game.
In the final seconds, Brewton tried to claim the win, but was stopped on downs as WSNMS took the win by two points.

Brewton (0-1) will host Ernest Ward Thursday in Brewton at 6 p.m. while WSNMS (1-0) will travel to Atmore.
