For the last 25 years, December has dawned with the darling dancers of the Brewton Dance Studio. Under the direction of Ann Peavey, scores of ballerinas – both young and experienced – have graced the Jefferson-Davis Community College stage in the holiday classic, The Nutcracker. This year’s featured cast members include (above) Morgan Manning as Clara; Steven McCall as the Nutcracker; Bridget Casey as the Sugar Plum Fairy; Callie Wiggins and Daisy Canty as the Chinese acrobats; Auburn Schoonover as the Tree Fairy; Tess Thomas as the Dew Drop Fairy; Taylor Burns as the Snow Queen, and Sara Perkins as the Rat King. This year’s performance will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. Advanced tickets are $5 and available at the studio or at the door the day of the performance for $8.
